We landed in Vancouver and headed to customs always the most nerve racking part of the trip. Making sure they are happy with visas and all. Everything went smoothly and we were off to our next gate with lunch on the way. We ran into the man Steve works for in PG while wandering the airport. He and his family were going to Hawaii. Maybe we are going the wrong way.
Our friends who are going to have Sasha for the three months while we are gone were also flying to Hawaii so we were watching for them too. Just before we headed to our gate we saw them coming up the concourse. It was great to get one last hug and hear that Sasha was settling in well.
We caught our next flight to Seattle the weather was over cast so we could not see the city until we were landing but Sammy got to see the Space Needle and the docks. The girls were sitting together and had their nose in a book.
After a long lay over we were headed to Houston,TX at 11:00pm. We were finally on a larger plane. =) The movie they were showing was not kid friendly so we were able to get a bit of rest.
We left Houston for Charleston, SC in the early morning as the sun was coming up. The sunrise was beautiful. We were in a plane about the size of a pop can and I was sure they were going to sling shot us to our final destination.
We arrived in Charleston at 10:30am. all of us were so happy to see the end of our travels for a while. We got our rental car and headed to the apartment. The apartment was just as pretty as the brochures. It was fun to unpack and then head out for some groceries to make our first meal. We went to Costco and Food Lion, for groceries.

One Wednesday after a little sleep Steve went into the office to discover...they needed him to travel to Charlotte NC the next day. So we decided why not we all packed a few things and took a 4 hr drive to North Carolina. While Steve worked on Thursday the kids and I went to the Discovery Center (more on that later). We spent the night at a hotel then leisurely came home on Friday. =)

Wonderful!! So fun for you all, and such an education for the kids, too!! Hope your mom can get out to see the east coast with you! Or, has she been there already?
