Celebrating Samuel's 9th Birthday

Nine years ago today my surgeon had picked the day and our first son was due to arrive.  September 15th is such a special day.  It was the day Steve and I had our first date and the day we got engaged.  And here we are in Ireland celebrating with the sweetest, most creative and some times craziest boy.

Birthday celebrations started last night with Samuel and Steve going to the arena spectacular Walking With Dinosaurs.  It sounds like a show for any child who loves dinosaurs.  They have recreated over 20 life size dinosaurs.  The boys were very impressed with the show.  The dinos move, roar and eat other dinos.

Before the start of the show Samuel and I walked over to the Titanic Museum which is the finish line for day one of the Cannonball Run Race.  Just like the movie it is guys and gals racing across country.  Ireland is so much smaller than the USA that they will be circling the whole island.  The cars would make Burt Reynolds and Sally Fields jealous.  These are not cheap cars.  Drivers are encouraged to wear a costume. I have never seen so many Porsche's, Ferrari's and Audi's.  I kept thinking of two little nephews they would have enjoyed the cars too.

This morning Samuel woke up with Steve and was all ready to open presents before dad headed off to work.  It is a testing day at the plant so Steve had to go to work.  We are keeping Samuel busy building his new Lego sets from Sabrina and we will take him to pick out his new Build a Bear from Sarah.
